Tricks of the trade provided by Kichler:
Measure the length of the opposite walls in the room and multiply those numbers to get the room’s square footage.
Figure out the Blade Sweep you need based on the size of your room. The Blade Sweep is the distance from one end of the Fan blade to the other.

If your ceiling is higher than 8 or 9 feet, you’ll need a downrod. Here are more tips to help you find the perfect fan for your space:
- Larger rooms can often accommodate more than one ceiling fan. For example, a great room measuring 30′ x 15′ could easily handle two 52″ ceiling fans.
- All Kichler stem-mounted ceiling fans can be installed on sloped ceilings, no greater than 20 degrees. Find slope adaptor options up to 60 degrees.
- You’ll notice every Kichler ceiling fan lists its blade sweep and downrod options. Most Kichler ceiling fans are sold with downrods to accommodate 8′ ceilings (4″ to 6″ downrod) or 9′ ceilings (12″ downrod). If your ceiling is higher, You can find matching downrod options.
